Introduction	ian@congochildrentrust.org Originally from Whitley Bay, North East England, I am now living in D.R.Congo assisting in the setting up of a project to support children living on the streets. After studying Anthropology at SOAS, London I completed a masters in Social Work at Exeter Uni. I have been working in the arena of safeguarding children within Childrens Services in the UK for the past 10 years as well as supporting unaccompanied asylum seeking children. I first came to Zaire/Congo in 1990 to support my Aunt who runs a hospital near the Angolan border. I returned in this capacity on a number of occasions and acted as an election observer in Kinshasa in 2006, it was then that the idea for this project emerged.
