| Introduction | I was brought up in a musical family, Mom said my first show with the family was before I could walk. Mom always thought that my sisters and brother and I did great harmony and should try for a recording career. As soon as I could lose the weight. But I was literally born fat. I've dieted most of my life and found that taking pounds off was possible. but not keeping them off. I've finally adjusted to the fact that until medical science figures out that most fat people aren't spending their lives on couches eating bon-bons, the best I may be able to do is continue a healthy food and exercise regimen and live the most active, exciting life I can manage. I've finally tossed aside my mom's admonitions that I should wear dark colors so because "Fat girls shouldn't draw attention to themselves." and worked hard to find the best sources of clothes for my big, tall, self. It was a lot of work and I realized that not everyone could find time to do all that, so I'm sharing the information I've gathered, along with new discoveries, with you so that you can join me in being your best, most beautiful self. |
| Interests | Music is my first love, but to perform I need a wardrobe. Not scratchy necked, box-shaped black polyester. Whether I'm performing with Band of Gold-SF Bay, the In Full Swing (20 piece Big Band) or doing my own original songs, I'm expected to dress up and we're talking boots, heels, formals, Country Queen. I envy the seamstresses out there, but I'm not one of them. As a result, I have a very practical fascination with clothes. I always feel a bond with other ladies and men who have problems finding outfits that show them as the smart, sexy successful people they are. |
