IntroductionMy name is Steve Fredman and I am an 85 year old retired MD who was a TPMG (Kaiser Permanente) practicing physician at the Walnut Creek facility between January 1970 and August 2010. I’m asking doctors, nurses and health care providers for assistance. We all have bits of special knowledge and tricks of the trade hiding somewhere in our brains. We took them with us when we retired. I’m hoping some of you will share one or two of them and allow me to impart them to others. The blog I am starting is called Medi-Hints. Every few days I hope to publish an edited version of my or someone’s “stuff.” I recently wrote and published a book about the history of medicine and how it developed in my lifetime. I write about drug prices and how the care we give has become a commodity. The Book: Understanding Modern Health Care, the wonders we created and the potholes we dug. (available on Amazon)
