|Occupation||Graduate Teaching Assistant|
|Location||Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States|
|Introduction||I'm a 26 year old grad student in the History Department at the University of Pittsburgh.
I'm a feminist, anarchist and Marxist, and also increasingly influenced by Buddhist and Gandhian philosophy. While I find all these terms to be a fairly clumsy fit, I think it's trite, unhelpful, and dishonest to pretend to be beyond classification.
I'm interested both personally and academically in the history of sugar, money, slaves, slavery, women, Haiti, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, the Americas, the world, Earth, time, students, socialism, capitalism, pirates, witches, boats, boatmaking, chess, violence, nonviolence, video games, and revolutions.
My current research is on the buccaneers, a gang of land-based seafaring pig thieves who haunted the Spanish in the 17th century Caribbean.
