| Introduction | Katariina is an author, speaker and photographer currently living in Santa Fe, NM. She is a Captain in the United States Marine Corps Reserves who returned from a year in Iraq last February. She has dedicated her latest book, The Art & Soul of Dancing Barefoot due out in September, to the girls of the world who do not have the freedom to choose what happens to their bodies, if they can go to school, who they marry, and what they can do with their lives. She desires to facilitate a shift in consciousness about the world's perceptions of the value of girls. She is currently working on a visual memoir of her experience in Iraq. |
