About me

Location Lakefield, Ontario, Canada
Introduction In all my work, I am keenly committed to using found objects and recycled materials. Over the years, I have enjoyed turning junk into treasures - old windows into garden art; colourful rags into beautiful rugs; buttons and bits of hardware into delightful suncatchers. Lately, my passion has turned to textiles - and my work now primarily includes primitive/traditional rug hooking, and wet and dry felting. Since my move from Toronto to Lakefield in 2005, I have become very involved in the local arts community. With the support of Jay Nutt of Nuttshell Next Door cafe, I coordinated Artisan Alley, which ran for three years in the alleyway beside the cafe; founded the Christmas at the Marshland Centre event, which is now a village tradition; and am a member of the Lakefield Farmers' Market. rdyer@nexicom.net
