About me

Location Canada
Introduction I spent two years backpacking around the globe after university, then worked in the ad biz in Toronto for a few years before taking a job in Europe. After a few years there I worked in the Middle East, then moved to Mexico and worked there for several years before moving back to Canada. Injustice ticks me off. Prejudice & arrogance too, but the biggest thing I take issue with is that people in the 'first world' seem ignorant of what really guides human endeavor everywhere: greed & ruthless ambition. Not everyone falls prey to these base instincts, but the majority of 'alphas' who push their way to the top of every business, religion & political party certainly do. Those people determine how much of their country's resources they & their cohorts can siphon off. In the 'West', where average folks are comfortable & busy, it's easy to be blind to this fact & to believe that leaders everywhere are inherently decent & have the best interests of their people at heart. NOT! That's the beauty of democracy - it's the most effective mechanism every devised to force leaders to take the people's interests into consideration.
