| Introduction | I've been active with the Greater Pine Island Civic Association since 2002, and served on the Board, as Membership Chair, Treasurer, Secretary and Webmaster - until the end of 2009. The current Board no longer runs the Association according to the bylaws and has become little more than a support group for the very limited interests of the island's noted "environmentalist", whose interests seem to include getting a central sewer system island wide. The GPICA refuses to present the views of those (and we are many) who believe properly built and maintained septic systems are more desirable for a rural community like Pine Island. |
