| Introduction | I got my start in antiques at a young age. Having always been interested in art and history from youth, it was a natural progression. I bought my first antique, a Victorian Eastlake chair, at an estate sale when I was nine. Now I collect photography, books, paintings, taxidermy, Victorian furniture, 1930s and older toys, military items, Masonic pieces, and religious wares. From middle school on, weekends meant regularly hitting estate sales, flea markets, antique stores & malls. As much as I like being able to buy I also equally enjoy touring museums and historical properties. I'm constantly learning new things about different design styles, manufacturers, artists, and how things were once made - that's a huge part of the fun in the antique field for me. www.FrancisClayAntiques.com www.flickr.com/photos/francisclayantiques |
