| Introduction | Specialedder is a special education counselor who spends his day with public school kids who are assigned by an IEP committee after an evaluation has determined he/she qualifies as Emotionally Disturbed as defined by IDEA, or as neurosocially impaired (autistic, etc.) At last count 12 children on my case load have been diagnosed as on the autism spectrum; 3-4 children remain undiagnosed, in my humble, albeit accurate opinion. Counseling, behavior support, teacher consult are provided for k-12; high school enrollment is bout 900 students. |
