| Introduction | Mother of two (ages 24 & 25), children's bookseller, former journalist, read nothing but kids' books (I try to read at least one adult book a year). I believe good books and a love of reading are one of the great gifts parents can give their children. I work as the book buyer for a small chain of toy & book stores in the Washington DC area (www.barstonschildsplay.com - it still hasn't incorporated our voluminous book department into the website), spending much of my time talking with kids and parents about what they're reading. I've learned about many of the best books I carry from families who love them -- including the folks who have commented on our blog! |
