Introduction	As a lifelong gardener, growing up in rural Illinois, I first got my start gardening as a child growing gardens, fruit trees, and strawberries with my father, which we always canned or froze for ourselves. After graduating in 2008, from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, where I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Ceramics, my wife, Aimee, and I, decided to take tradition, passion and way of life to a new level. In late summer 2009, we moved to Carlinville, Illinois, where I began turning the "back yard" into the 2 acre farm (2af). In September of 2009 we started the 2acrefarm blog, as a way to document and share our experiences, trials, and lives as we transitioned from gardener to farmer on our 2 Acre Farm.
