Montreal Eagle

Introduction | The Montreal Eagle Fortnightly was first conceived in 1734, when French Beaver-fur trader Jacques Montrealstein crossed the river that was to bear his name and was struck in the head by a falling glob of eagle guano. Vowing not to forget the incident, he carefully documented the famous five W's (or in French, cinq Q's), conducting extensive interviews with surrounding flora and fauna, and publishing the 4157-word result on a stone tablet, which was carried home by his slave, whose name is lost to antiquity. This momentous work is now in Fort Knox, and remains one of the highest standards of journalistic excellence studied in the nation's top journalism schools. |
