Introduction I am a reasonably fit, 64 year old, who enjoys life to the full. Life as gift - with no great expectations other than that which love provides and demands. I have a passion for service focused politics. I have a distaste for the self-serving machine politics that dominate our polity today. I have a 34 year record of active engagement in Liverpool's civic affairs, including leading the campaign for the people to elect their Mayor in 1986. My Christian faith leads me to seek to live justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with my God. I am perhaps the oldest, continuing practice IT bloke around. In 1968 I began sorting punch cards at Nestle. Since 1978 I have been self employed servicing IT requirements of small-medium business. My IT business consulting skills are defining problems and implementing solutions for them. Indeed, skills needed for an active and purposeful politician.
Interests Surf Life Saving (I attained my Bronze Medallion in 2002 aged 52. From 2002 to 2011 at Garie Surf Life Saving Club in the Royal National Park I served as an Active Patrol member and Inflatable Rescue Boat Driver. I had the privilege of serving as President from 2007-2010. Bush Walking (I have been lifted out of the bush by helicopter.. that's another story), Rugby League ( ex Rabbitoh with a few 1st Grade games in 72-73.. Favorite Movies I enjoy going to the Dendy Quays at Circular Quay in "town" and the fare of films they deliver. So many over the years but I remember well and with enjoyment, Japanese Story. My classic list includes The Godfather I & II, Star Wars (most of them), Catch 22, Life and the Times of Judge Roy Bean (a quirky western), Serpico, Scarecrow (Hackman & Pacino - a fine friendship story of hope and giving) Fargo (quirky Coen Bros ) Hot Fuzz (so funny-a real dig at American shootup rubbish) and of course the James Bonds movies with Sean and Daniel as JB.
Favorite Music Nat King Cole, Sinatra, Beatles, Mamas and the Papas, Neil Young, "Morning of the Earth" album, Choral performances at the Sydney Opera House.
Favorite Books Graham Greene novels, but mostly non fiction books on matters of interest.
