| Introduction | I am a Critical Care Nurse by profession, and my full-time job requires me to take care of ill patients on the bedside. Interestingly, although I have worked long enough as a nurse for more than 20 years, I am not writing books about nursing; instead, I'm writing illustration books for children. The inspiration to write these books came to me when my children were little and I was looking for books with stories that were a huge reflection of my culture. I have been a freelance writer for MOD magazine in the Philippines, and I got my diploma for Writing for Children and Teenagers in the U.S.With my background in writing and the gift of art, I decided to create my tales. Because the Philippines is known as the Pearl of the Orient Seas, I call my books Tales of POTOS books. It is a series of books and are stories with animal characters that reveal how each animal earned its distinguishing attribute: for example how the firefly got its light. My books are available at Amazon. I migrated to the U.S. at age 31, and now reside in the Tampa Bay area with my three teenage children. |
