Introduction Mrs. Gay Caswell was born to Eric Wallace White and Anna Patricia Fisher White of Girvin, Saskatchewan. She is the sixth of nine children. Since 1971 she has been married to John Robert Caswell. They have seven children and thirteen grandchildren to date. Two of their sons have become priests. One of their daughters is now Sister Mary Judith O.P. She went to Girvin School to grade X and graduated from grade XII at Davidson High School. She has a teacher’s certificate from the University of Regina and a Bachelor of Arts, Four Years, majoring in History from St. Thomas More College, University of Saskatchewan. She was a member of the legislature in Saskatchewan from 1982 to 1986 serving as the Member for Saskatoon- Westmount. From 1987 to 1991 she was a speech writer for various politicians in Regina and Ottawa. She and her husband are founding members of L’Ecole Notre Dame du Nord, an independent Catholic school in Brabant Lake, in operation since March 25, 1996. She and John have produced three books at the easy to read, adult level. They publish a newsletter, The Brabant Lake Times. She is a marathon swimmer, gardener, and crafts woman.
