About me

Location Utrecht, Netherlands
Introduction Growing up in Anchorage, Alaska, I developed an appreciation for beautiful scenery early. When I was 16 years old, I took an interest in photography, which allowed me to capture and share some of the beautiful images I had always appreciated. On my first trip to Europe, in 2004, I visited Rome and Paris. Having an opportunity to photograph the exquisite historical buildings in these cities only increased my interest in photography, and these days I always try to carry a camera with me. In 2005 I began my graduate work at Penn State, and in 2008 I had a wonderful opportunity to visit West Africa to collect data for my dissertation. The dry red clay dirt, the verdant landscapes, and the haunting, aged buildings inspired a plethora of photographs. During my graduate studies I also visited Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Granada, and Lisbon. After finishing my degree I moved to Utrecht, the Netherlands, and I've had ample opportunities to travel around the Netherlands, England, Belgium, and Poland. I look forward to sharing new images as I continue to travel, and I have plans to visit Germany in the spring.
