Introduction	Sarah Ripplinger received a Master of Journalism, specializing in sustainable development, from the University of British Columbia in 2008. She received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English literature from Carleton University in 2005. During her graduate studies, she worked as an intern reporter with Metro Vancouver and as a paid intern with the Nelson Daily News. She co-produced a news segment, which aired on the American television news program, Dan Rather Reports, with colleagues at the School of Journalism. Her master’s thesis, entitled Climate Change in the Canadian News Media: Towards a Sustainable Future, examined reporting about climate change in two mainstream newspapers in Canada and explored, more broadly, the future directions of this type of coverage. Sarah was a recipient of the Canadian Graduate Scholarship for her final year of studies. As well, she was awarded the B.C. and Yukon Community Newspaper Association Scholarship for her interest in community newspapers. Her career aspiration is to work in the areas of writing, broadcasting, and environmental reporting and research.
