| Introduction | Farmed, fresh seafood Distinctive and Bold Achieving sustainable food systems is essential to ensuring abundant and healthy food supplies for our growing global population, as well as to maintain Maine's working waterfront cultural and economic traditions. We work to develop environmentally and socially sustainable seafood systems, and have a series of small farm sites along the coast of Downeast Maine. Clean, fresh and briny Pemetic Morning Dews are farmed at our two sites in the diverse marine environment of Union River Bay, with a perfect view of Mount Desert Island. These are not average oyster farming sites! They are deep, dynamic farms, with a large tidal range and frequent sea winds that naturally tumble our oysters to produce a deep cup and large meat. The clean, warm water is perfect for producing abundant micro-algae which makes our oysters plump, sweet and briny. Our oysters are grown in the water column rather than on the sea bed, giving them a clean, fresh finish. Pemetic Morning Dews: as fresh and clean as the morning dew! |
