About me

GenderFemale
LocationUnited States
IntroductionI'm a full time mother of 6 and have been married to my best friend for more than 20 years. I grew up as an Air Force brat which afforded me the opportunity to live in Japan and Germany and to learn the cultures and a little bit of the language. Mostly what I learned is that people are more alike than they are different. My experiences taught me that this "big world" we live on can feel like a "small world" when we understand and celebrate what we all have to offer. ( I didn't even have to go to Disneyland to learn that.) I've learned to love people and to be genuinely interested in them. It really makes for a happy life.
InterestsI love to sing (I have my very own accompanist-my husband), watch movies, learn other cultures, travel, and of course, EAT! I don't enjoy cooking when I "have" to do it. It's more fun when I have the time to just play around in the kitchen. I find it more relaxing and enjoyable when there is no pressure to get it on the table. The worst part of it all? Clean up!
Favorite moviesReturn To Me,While You Were Sleeping,Sleepless In Seattle,Runaway Bride,Father Of The Bride 1 and 2,First Knight,Pride and Prejudice,Cast Away,The Terminal,Bicentennial Man,Nacho Libre,Just Like Heaven,Shall We Dance?,Shanghai Noon,Shanghai Knights,Uncle Buck,The Fugitive,Regarding Henry,Shine,Steel Magnolias, and the list goes on and on..
Favorite musicNo particular favorites in music. I like most kinds.
Favorite booksTry Giving Yourself Away by David Dunn. Although I paid ten cents for it at a local library years ago, it's become one of my treasures. David Dunn shares his hobby of giving himself away and the happiness that comes with it. The pages are loaded with his personal experiences and examples of how one person's hobby can change the world. I think it's often the little things added up that make the biggest impact in our lives. I've tried to adopt his idea to some extent (when I'm not caught up in my own world)and to notice opportunities to give myself to others. When put into practice, I find that I am truly happy.
