Introduction George Giacoppe is currently Vice Chair of the 67th A.D. Committee for the California Democratic Party.

He was born in Massachusetts and attended Fitchburg State College before winning a competitive appointment to West Point through the Army National Guard. He then graduated from West Point and accepted a first assignment as an officer in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC where he was a parachutist and company level officer. Later military assignments brought him to many places in the world including Viet Nam. He was awarded two Bronze Stars for achievement during 1967-68.

His academic achievements include a degree in Engineering and Military Science from West Point, and an MBA from Tulane University. He is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College, the Defense Systems Management College and the National Defense University.

He has chaired the 67th California Assembly District twice. He has been a delegate to the California State Convention and is a member of the Democratic Party's State Executive Board.

He writes of war and peace.
