Introduction From England, started dancing in 1945 and was an amateur competitor for 18 years. 1963 turned professional and took first examination with the ISTD. 1965/67 Manager and Head Teacher at the North20 Dance Studio in London. 1967 moved to the US with the Fred Astaire Studios in Washington DC. 1968 opened up an independent studio with Albert Franz and Ron Bennett – Danceland II (now Chevy Chase Ballroom). 1968/69 qualified at the Fellowship level (Highly Commended) in Ballroom and Latin. 12 years Chairman of the East Coast Committee of the US Branch of the Imperial Society. Introduced the closed syllabus division in Pro/Am and amateur novice competitions. Ballroom Dept. Chairman of the NCDTO now the NDCA and created registration of professional competitors, competitions and championships, and created the first NDCA Rule Book. US Judge at four World Championships - Germany, Japan, London, and New York. Coaches professionals, amateurs and trains professionals for ISTD examinations. A Certified Scrutineer, has been Chairman of Judges at many major events in the US. Now coaches in Hawai‘i and organizes the Hawai‘i Star Ball at the end of September or beginning of October.
