Introduction I'm a reformed couch potato who worked for a Health Club as a certified Spinning instructor until diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on 7/19/2011. On that date 40% of the bone at the first metatarsal joint was removed and replaced with cement. My foot was in a cast for 6 weeks and 7 months later I can walk and ride my bike. This despite undergoing a stem cell transplant on January 11th, 2012 following chemotherapy induction. After losing all of my hair, 20 pounds, and several other complications I'm slowly recovering. Besides my 3 children, and 3 grand children, I'm most proud of my health and fitness gains since retiring at the age of 51. The knowledge gains have been passed on to many people including my kids. I hope to inspire others to follow a path to health and fitness by personal example and sharing of knowledge. During the first 3 years of becoming fit I lost 60 pounds of bodyfat, reduced pant waist size from 40" to 31" and a dramatic improvement in life quality.
