| Introduction | One of the recipients of Hellman Hammet Award for 2007, Mg Mg Kyaw Win is living a life of refugee in Phnom Penh, Cambodia waiting for resettlement in a third country. In 1990 he co-translated "Outrage: Burma's Struggle for Democracy", originally written by a Swedish journalist Bertil Lintiner. Mg Mg Kyaw Win is a freelance writer and journalist by profession but now practising painting that has been put aside by himself for many years. On the other hand, he continues his activities while in exile participating in the movement to restore Democracy in his native country. Over a year ago he fled Burma for fear of persecution by the ruling military junta after he had made a successful arrangement for a meeting between a foreign journalist and a very important Burmese freedom fighter. |
