Introduction I work at CHOW, an online food magazine. Being the managing editor at a food magazine means that my near-Teutonic love for imposing order on chaos and my near-Olympic love for food have finally met. Over the years I've bounced around various Bay Area alt-weeklies -- from Oakland (beloved Urbanview) to San Jose (Metro) to the North Bay (Bohemian), where by necessity I did a bit of everything and by choice I wrote about food. I was the managing editor at Alternet for a while, and then a freelancer for a year, mostly editing books for Peachpit Press.
