| Einführung | Librarian. Mom. Foodie. I'm a librarian who owns an eBook reader and promotes videogaming as the next wave of storytelling. These days, I'm cooking a lot of things from scratch, writing book reviews, editing movie reviews, poking around farmer's market (and lately, eschewing them for going directly TO the farm) and thinking about a CSA for next year, stargazing, running around barefoot in the summer, putting things in Mason jars (dried herbs, flour bouquets, candied nuts, hot tea) and reading. I've stepped back from a wild and crazy travel-filled consultancy and sticking closer to home to raise my daughter (just when I got an invitation to speak in Mayalasia, darn it!) |

| Lieblingsfilme | xI love movies and have trouble making the time to fit them in. LOVE the short film format and documentaries/mockumentaries. Like quirky & unpretentious independent films over blockbusters. and like smart comedies, not slapstick. Some favorites: The Princess Bride, Clueless, Best in Show, Stand by Me, Zombieland, Tropic Thunder, Spanglish, Spellbound, Strictly Ballroom, Y Tu Mama Tambien?, I just saw Breakfast at Tiffany's this year, and have a lot of classics to catch up on. | Lieblingsmusik | I like music I can sing along to (and prefer to harmonize). It can be pop, country, showtunes... the older I get, the more I like folk. Simon & Garfunkel, Iron & Wine, Indigo Girls, Great Big Sea, Regina Spektor, Saving Jane, Queen, Evanescence, & Barenaked Ladies are some of my favorites. I've been known to crank up Metallica, or zone to Dead Can Dance, too. |
| Lieblingsbücher | I read pretty widely. I'm a sucker for romance, but like a little depth: a historical setting (Outlander by Diana Gabaldon), a sci-fi twist (The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger). I like angsty coming-of-age fiction the best, and enjoy SF & fantasy so long as the names are pronounceable. Nonfiction tastes run toward Malcolm Gladwell and Mary Roach, cookbooks and sociology.
