About me

Introduction I am a bagpipe playing Bedfordian with a long-standing interest in the Highland Division's brief stay in town early in World War One. This blog is a work in progress, intended to provide a short illustrated summary of the Highlanders' occupation of Bedford from August 1914 to May 1915. There may be gaps in the story, so I'd be very interested in any contributions - please leave me a comment, or drop me an e-mail to: galleyrm@gmail.com. I thank the following for all their help, advice and support to date: Christine Galley, Chris McDonald, John Wainwright, Derek Bird, Alyson Courtenay, Kathy Fricker, Beryl Blyth, Nancy Barr, Richard Wildman, Brenda Roberts, Gina Worboys, Col.
