| Favorite Movies | Japanese animation is an eye-opener;Hollywood has decayed in quality; Indian cinema is a tragedy; the world's largest film maker; but labour without brains. There are exceptions though. Movies: The Lord of the Rings trilogy/ Peter Jackson, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro/Kundhan Shah: The iconic comedy that never had a theatrical release!, Gladiator/Ridley Scott: Russell Crowe rules, Princess Mononoke/Hayao Miyazaki: As nothing seen in animation, Wallace and Gromit: The curse of the Ware Rabbit/ Nick Park, Steve Box: Pain-staking clay animation, the results are there to see, Manichitrathazhu (The Ornate Lock) a 1993 Malayalam psychological thriller with a touch of humour; the comic inventiveness of Kung Fu Panda and Kung Fu Panda 2; Andaz Apna Apna / Rajkumar Santoshi: All the jokes work, a rare comic film. |
| Favorite Music | The Beatles, RD Burman, AR Rahman, Sitarist Ravi Shankar, Celene Dion, Hindi Film Soundtracks (1950-end of this world), Malayalam and Tamil film soundtracks(although I hardly understand the Tamil lyrics, the music is great). |
