Introduction Indlovu is isiXhosa for elephant. Elephant’s symbolize strength, removal of obstacles and barriers, using education opportunities, commitment and compassion. The matriarch (the oldest female leader of a herd) leads in a way that is both gentle and inclusive. Just like humans, elephant calves are dependent on adults until they reach adulthood. As a teacher I believe that we are the Matriarch's of our classes. Even more importantly to be the voice for those in Special Needs Education in South Africa. With over crowded classrooms, ranging from 35 to 60 in a class, to underpaid and overworked teachers, My anthem of hope is to inspire teachers not only through my own story but also to equip them to know how to become the voice for the kids in there class, This is my story, my fight and my hope for this nation that I call home.
