Introduction | I have been birding since 1980 when, as an undergraduate at UM-Dearborn, MI I took a field biology class and became hooked on birds. Since then I have had a passion for trying to photograph them. In 2003 I discovered the art of Digiscoping, or photographing birds with a spotting scope and point and shoot camera. Since then I have been photographing / documenting birds while trying to improve my skills. In 2007 I started blogging to record my observations / photos and provide a narrative of my adventures / experiences. Having recently moved to Brownstown, MI I am now closer to nature and am now enjoying pre-retirement living at Brownton Abbey (our new home). Birding Through Glass describes my passion for optics: from microscopes at work, to binoculars, lenses, scopes, and even photographing through windows. |
