| Introduction | I've been riding for almost my whole life, but I've been taking lessons formally for about 6 years. I learned how to ride by taking trail rides in the mountains near where I live, and my parents bought me my first horse when I was 13. I have taken lessons and have shown in dressage, eventing, jumpers, and hunters, as well as Pony Club. My goal is to obtain my HA/A rating before I graduate, with a specialty in show jumping. I have shown an Arabian in open breed dressage shows and have even earned high point championships on one. I have shown up to novice level eventing and level 3 jumpers, all on an Arabian horse, and I have helped train and show a young horse in hunter classes. I am taking lessons with an instructor who has trained 2 horses to the Canadian Olympic team. In addition to climbing the Pony Club ladder, I also want to qualify for NAJYRC before I graduate. I would love to make the Olympic team one day, and I dream of breeding and training international-quality jumpers with Arabian bloodlines. I am a full-time high school student, and I make pretty decent grades. I also have a wonderful boyfriend, whom I intend on marrying one day. ;) |
