About me

Location Providence, Rhode Island, United States
Introduction The Rhode Island Division of Taxation, part of the Rhode Island Department of Revenue, is the state's primary tax administration agency. With nearly 200 employees at our offices in Providence, we collect about $2.5 billion a year in tax revenue -- tax dollars that provide vital public services throughout the state. Our mission is to foster voluntary compliance with Rhode Island tax laws; to instill public confidence through professional, impartial, and ethical conduct; to administer and collect all taxes as required by Rhode Island law in the most efficient and cost-effective manner; and to assist taxpayers by helping them understand and meet their tax responsibilities. Our blog helps us reach a larger population to foster voluntary compliance. One of our goals is to use technology to reach taxpayers through a variety of channels.
