| Introduction | I'm a baby boomer who has worked in a variety of jobs over the years: real estate sales, tax assessor, community college English teacher. In my late 40's I decided to get a Ph.D. because I thought I wanted to teach full-time at a university. However, after graduating, I took a temporary position teaching at a middle school and discovered I loved working with younger students. After teaching there for eight years, I have decided to retire this June, 2010, and enjoy myself. I'm excited, but a little frightened also. I'm married and my husband retired a few years ago. We have two sons, one married with three kids, the other is still single. |
