About me

Location Arvada, CO, United States
Introduction Here’s a little about me…I’m 36 years old and a Colorado native, having lived in the Denver metropolitan area for my entire life. My primary bicycle discipline is road and I currently race as a Cat. 3 racer (although I prefer to ride with the 35+ Cat 3s, who take a more relaxed approach to racing.) In 2009, after a long series of accidents and injuries (including a L5-S1 spine infection and subsequent spine fusion) forced me out of most competitive physical activities for several years, I was able to get back on the saddle and start competing again. This time, however, I began shifting my interests from duathlon and Colorado's highly competitive (and sometimes accident prone) road racing scene to ultra distance cycling, which I found to be equally as challenging, but a little lower risk for crashing than elbow-to-elbow criterium racing. In 2009, I participated in several ultra-distance cycling races sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Cycling Club (RMCC), the official ultra-marathon road club the state of Colorado. After experiencing a satisfying 2009 season, I am hoping to expand on the successes of last year as a member of Seven's Developmental Squad for the 2010 season.
