Introduction Rilla Marshall is a hand-weaver and textile artist based in Prince Edward Island. Graduating in 2004 from NSCAD with a Major in Textiles, she maintains an active weaving practice, which embraces both functional textiles and an art practice. Marshall's textile artwork has been exhibited in group and solo shows in P.E.I., N.S., Alberta, Ontario, and Newfoundland and Labrador and she has received numerous grants for the creation and exhibition of artwork. In 2012 Marshall was the recipient of the W.B. Bruce European Fine Art Travel Scholarship and traveled to Sweden to research hand-weaving traditions. Rilla Marshall makes her home and studio in a century-old renovated school house in Belfast, PEI.
