| Introduction | Every year, several tons of quality produce from yard trees and business areas go to waste. Some families can't use all the fruit on their trees. Other home owners cannot harvest the trees due to time or physical constraints. Increasingly, many properties have quality edible trees solely for cosmetic purposes. At the same time, often in the same town, there are families who can't afford fresh produce. Suburban Harvest bridges the gap by sending volunteers who harvest the excess produce for local shelters and charity organizations. If you have excess produce on your property, know of someone who does, or even if you drive by a big tree ready to pick, that's why we're here. |
