| Introduction | The cursor blinks on the blank white space before me. Who am I? Who but God really knows? I can tell you what I've done or where I've been. I can tell you my dreams and hopes. But perhaps it is what I love that describes me best. I love my family and the dog snoring on the hearth. I love daffodils in March and Purple Irises in April. I love the crunch of leaves under my feet in autumn, and the sound of snow falling on the windswept slopes of a ski run in winter. I love watching hot air balloons fly over my house as I clutch a cup of hot coffee and stare up at them in my bathrobe and bare feet. I love singing in Church (though I do it rather badly) and seeing in my mind the song rising to heaven from all over the earth--the U.S., Indonesia, Africa--from the inner cities, small towns, farms and lonely desert homes. I love reading, and finding God in unexpected places. And sometimes, like Madeline L'Engle, when I write, I think I can walk on water. |

Why does the taste of pennies remind you of losing a tooth?
Pennies have the metallic taste of blood-yuck!
