Introduction	Shaheen Moolla is a practising advocate of the High Court of SA. Shaheen is also managing director of Feike, a Cape Town-based natural resources advisory firm. Shaheen has previously served as Special Legal Adviser to South Africa's Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, Valli Moosa. He also served as head of South Africa's fisheries management and compliance unit, Marine and Coastal Management. Shaheen is a member of the IUCN's Commission on Environmental Law: Oceans, Coastal and Coral Reef Specialist Group. Shaheen has advised the South African government on fisheries and aquaculture management since 2001, having served as legal adviser to three South African fisheries ministers between 2001 and 2018. Shaheen has also advised the African Union, IUCN and Benguela Current Large Marine Ecosystem Commission on various fisheries projects, served as Key Expert on EU-ACP Fish II projects, and advised the governments of Namibia, Mozambique and Lesotho on fisheries and aquaculture development, legislation, policy and governance.
