| Introduction | I've been working with glass for over five years, making my own beads in my Florida studio. I attended my first lampworking class and became fascinated working with glass in its molten state. I also attended classes at Ringling School of Art to enhance my knowledge of art. To continue my education with glass art, I have also taken classes in glass fusing. I create my own beads using various techniques of lampworking and fusing. To make each bead, I melt glass in an oxygen propane flame at temperatures in excess of 2000 degrees. The beads are then annealed in a kiln for about 5 hours to ensure maximum strength. |
