| Introduction | I was born and reared in Belfast in Northern Ireland, and lived here through the troubles. I've been a school teacher, a university lecturer, Head of Conservation at the Ulster Museum in Belfast, a heritage consultant, a part-time soldier, a professional singer-songwriter with albums to my credit, a software developer, a technical writer and, most recently, an archaeological editor for the Northern Ireland Environment Agency. I've lived here in Belfast, also in Prague in the Czech Republic, Reno, Nevada in the USA and in England. I'm married with three kids and a granddaughter (all of whom live in Boise, Idaho), and two cats, and my wife and I have just started a business in ceramics restoration. |
