Introduction | I am a mom of two wonderful children, both of which have their own special needs. So, I am lucky to be a mom with SPECIAL children! My daughter, Madison, is 12 years old. She has a learning disability characterized as a Visual Processing Disorder. My son, Andrew, is 10 years old and has a special need of a different kind. He has a disease called eosinophilic esophagitis. Having children is the most rewarding aspect of my husband's and my life. However, dealing with each of their special needs can be challenging and frustrating at times. Support from family, friends, and other parents that are dealing with the same issues can be a tremendous help to a parent of children with special needs of any kind. I have found some special people to help along our journey that have been both inspirational and educational in my growth as a parent. I am hoping this blog will help others and further help my family on our journey. |
