| Introduction | Having gained a BA Hons Degree in Information Graphic Design,I worked for a number of years in publishing before starting a family. At adult education classes in Maldon, I discovered a passion for Textiles gaining NCFE certificates, before studying with Julia Caprara at Opus School of Textile Arts. I have had three solo exhibitions in Essex and exhibited with 'Prism' at the Mall Galleries, London and the Knitting and Stitching Show. I have also shown with 'Night and Day Textile Group' and in Cambridge with the 'Eastern Region Textile Forum' (ERTF) as well as in local art trails. I experiment with colour, texture and three-dimensional forms, looking to nature for design ideas, but also to artists in other fields, including the great artsits for inspiration. But I also reflect on my own experiences and those of family and friends to create figurative pieces, letting the subject matter define the techniques and materials that I use. |
