Introduction	Sandra Mardenfeld is a freelance writer, editor, and professor based in Long Island, New York. She is currently working on her PhD in Communications and Information, with a specialization in media studies at Rutgers University. She has worked as the managing editor for Playgirl and Fashion Almanac magazines and as the Broadway editor of Playbill. She currently is the director of the journalism program at C.W. Post University, and has also taught at St. Thomas Aquinas College, Hofstra University, and Mercy College. Sandra has written for more than 50 newspapers, magazines, and websites.
