Introduction Mrs. DeVoe has been teaching music in Plymouth Schools for 17 years (starting out as Miss Antonsen). Her interest in music began at a very young age. Piano lessons began in grade 1 followed by a stint on the clarinet in grade 4 and tenor saxophone and alto clarinet in grade 6. In junior high she became involved in the chorus and began voice lessons at age 15. College led her to Susquehanna University for one year when a knee injury brought her closer to home to the University of Rhode Island. She was hired by Plymouth Public Schools right after graduating from URI and continued with graduate studies at UConn. Mrs. DeVoe remains an active singer and choir director outside of school. She directs a church choir where she also is a leader of song and frequently performs for weddings and funerals. She also sings with the Sippican Choral Society. Music is a huge part of her family life as well. Mr. DeVoe is an accomplished guitarist, composer and music teacher for the town of Wareham. Her oldest son, Jacob, plays violin with the NBSYO and trombone in the Sippican band. Her middle son, Caleb, plays piano and trumpet in school, and her youngest son, Luke plays the viola.
