Introduction Sensei Noah Mitchell began training in Okinawan karate in 1983, and earned his first degree black belt in 1988. In the mid-1990s, Sensei Noah ran a dojo in Bedford Hills, and taught from 1995 - 2006 at the Mohegan/Yorktown School of Martial arts. He currently holds the rank of Rokudan (6th degree black belt) in karate. In the 1990s he began training in Okinawa kobudo, and became a member of the Matayoshi Kobudo Kyokai USA. In 2003, he became a student of Kyoshi Neil Stolsmark, 8th dan & current president of the Okinawa Kobudo Doushi Rensei-kai, under whom he still trains. Sensei Noah currently holds the rank of Sandan (3rd degree black belt) in kobudo. In the early 2000s, he began training in Japanese ju jitsu under Shihan Gary Gione, who was a student of Hector Negron, 10th dan. Sensei Noah currently holds the rank of San-Mokuroku (3rd degree black belt) in ju jitsu. He is currently also training in Batto-do and Toyama-ryu iaido, arts that involve drawing and cutting with the Japanese Samurai sword. He holds the rank of Shodan in Batto-do. He and Sensei Carol created Mountain Stream Budo in 2006, where he remains co-owner and chief instructor.
