Introduction	I retired from teaching at the end of the 2013-14 school year. I spent the last nine years of my teaching career in 6th grade where I taught Language Arts and Social Studies. I'm an avid reader, a lover of learning, and a fledgling writer. Pleasures from the Page is where I connect with friends in the blogosphere. On Tuesdays I post a Slice of Life, a weekly writing challenge from Two Writing Teachers; I participate monthly in Spiritual Journey First Thursday; and sometimes I participate in Poetry Friday. Sweet Reads is a place for me, the members of our after school book club, and interested readers to share the books we are reading, book lists, and other book related activities.
