| Introduction | Anansi’s Web is the youth media action project founded by the Central District Organizing Project (CDOP), a community organization based in the historic Midtown/Central District neighborhood of Gary, IN. Since 2007 we have operated the Anansi’s Web Youth Media Action Project, a leadership internship that cultivates youth voice and empowerment by engaging local teens in youth-generated media and social justice activism. Anansi’s Web 2011 interns are high school students learning about Gary’s history and how to advocate for social justice to improve the city, while they create their own media (video, blogs, social media, etc) to tell the story. This is a blog expressing the thoughts and works of the Anansi Web interns. |
| Interests | Youth using media and their voices to empower themselves and their communities. |
