| Introduction | I cannot remember my mothers lovely new state of the art red laminex kitchen being installed in the 1950s, nor when the 8-seater dining table and chairs with chrome trim and legs arrived. Though i did not think it at the time, they were magnificent pieces of furniture. We now call this retro and vintage. Built to last, one of my sisters proudly uses the table today. But I do remember making first table decoration. After a few loving lessons from Grandma, I decided to surprise my mother with my new skill. I somehow found a piece of cotton fabric from my mothers sewing basket and embroidered a row of flowers across the fabric. I frayed the edges to finish it off. It lived for years under the crystal bowl on the dining table, the equivalent of the pool room. I have been creating and decorating since then.
