| Introduction | Noreen wants to share some of the things she learned as she and her loved ones went through this experience. The characters, including Nita, are fictional, however. The lack of faith and willfulness and other qualities were intensified and even invented in some circumstances. Thus, people need not think that the portrayals of the characters are completely accurate. The characters in the story are based on the family members, but details were added to improve the story. The time frame was changed, although most of the incidents occurred. Still, the truthfulness of the message is unchanged, that we are important and loved, and that we need to share our love with the people we cherish. We don’t know how long we have to live. Enjoy and savor, since all people experience brushes with death, and many people deal with cancer. This is a book about miracles and hope, and acceptance of God’s will. Feel free to comment. | Interests | Noreen Astin lives in American Fork, Utah, and is married to Stephen B. Astin. They have eight grown children and twenty-three grandchildren. Noreen has a firm knowledge that Jesus is real and that He loves everyone. She also knows that death is not to be feared and that life is to be savored. She has learned many lessons in life. Noreen suffered a bout with cancer similar to the one experienced by her character, Nita. Noreen enjoys travel and film and learning. She is an artist and writer and musician. She loves teaching and getting to know other people. Noreen holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees and has taught university writing and humanities classes since 2001 at various institutions, including Utah Valley University, University of Phoenix, DeVry University, and Salt Lake Community College. Noreen loves family connection and activities, and she enjoys taking pictures and recording memories in a journal. |
