Introduction Chris began writing about 'Survivor' in 2001 for PopPolitics.com. In 2004, he received his master's degree in Communication, Culture and Technology from Georgetown after writing his thesis on the show. In 2006, Rowman & Littlefield subsidiary Lexington Books published his book "Tribal Warfare: 'Survivor' and the Political Unconscious of Reality Television." The Journal of Popular Culture called the book "a delightful and thorough study of the politics and ideology" of "Survivor." Chris also has presented papers on "Survivor" at academic conferences and published an essay on "Survivor" as commodity in the Journal of American Culture.
